Residents at Cross Oak Ranch was wondering "Why Bother..." on Monday night when residents called the "After Hours Emergency Phone Number" To CMA (Community Management Associates). The landscape sprinklers were on all day on Monday, and into the middle of the night on Tuesday when one resident, who realized the extreme waste of water and money called the "Emergency Number". Pam, who answered the phone reportedly told the resident that there was nothing she could do about it because she didn't live "nearby" and instead called 911 and requested that Oak Point Fire Department tend to the problem. Of course, she was quickly informed that a sprinkler system that would not shut off is not an emergency. It wasn't until sometime early Tuesday Morning that someone finally responded to the problem... So much for "After Hours Assistance"... It might be time to call these people and demand we stop paying for "Round The Clock" support when residents get lazy individuals who feel their sleep is more important than doing what they are being paid to respond to. |

The April income and balance sheets are in and according to a few folks that have looked at it we are actually $48,000 UNDER BUDGET AS OF 4/30/09! This may change with the release of May's figures but from the look of it we had an actual surplus according to expenditures for year to date budget items.
I am not an accountant but if someone is and has access to these documents (are posted in the forums under "is there an accountant in the house") please take a look and let me know as I could be mistaken but I'm inclined to think I'm right. So if we had a surplus why did the small pool have to be closed? Why is it we are constantly bombarded with what our responsiblities are but the HOA's seem to be glaringly absent or extremely low key during these exchanges?

Ed Griffin, the association manager representative for RTI/Community Management Associates in Plano Texas has responded in a very demeaning way, while removing the resident from being a part of the new "all inclusive" hand picked "Resident Advisory Council" which was formed to attempt to overthrow the Council currently in place.
