i know that we did a may day planting event, which had a great turnout, but i think the front entrance could use a whole LOT more color. i think we planted 3 yellow flowers up by the front entrance. There is ALOT of unused space for some pretty colorful flowers.......i would be willing to help plant them if the HOA would provide them!

If you're interested let's get together with the social group on 5/4/12 @ 7 pm (small pool). Let's bring some food & talk about some up coming opportunites for gardening in and around the community. Got a semi-decent copy of Avengers & 3 Stooges for later....Who's in?

Tree planting question... I've just moved in and (one of) the first orders of business is to get a tree in the front yard where the original must died some time ago. Is there a list of approved tree's for the HOA? I requested a redbud with my property manager and was told that's a no. (I was thinking a redbud is an attractive tree and hearty in Texas soil - that's what I get for thinking.)

Where can I find out what my options are in Cross Oaks?

Beautification Committee/volunteers:
Above, I have outlined the purpose and the high level plan behind the spring planting event that I scheduled with our landscaper.

I need email addresses (or email me at dmoreland@cmamangement.com) of volunteers from each Section of Cross Oak Ranch; North, West, Central, South, and the Lakes. There are 7 flower bed areas that need to be planted in COR. I would like each section to take one of these flower beds as a community project. On April 30th, at the "The Day before May Day" event , these volunteers will lead their section in the planting of one of the 7 Cross Oak Ranch flower beds. All materials will be furnished by the Landscape company.

I would like these Committee Members/volunteers to meet with the Landscaper to make some annual and perennial selections no later than April 16th.

We also need someone to take the lead on
- Refreshments
- Trash Pick Up activity
- Communications Committee representative to advertise via email, newsletter, Street Captains/Email Blast and prepare at-the-event communications for Homeowners about Landscaping and Fence standards.

Please email me. I will send out a Committee email soon to each Committee/volunteer so that we can decide who's doing what.

I am looking forward to a fun, inclusive event that should appeal to a broad number of Cross Oak Ranch Residents.
