@Atkins1, That would be great! I was intending to do it but work just got hectic for me and it had to take a back seat for now. I don't have the time and day for next meeting with Don but in the interim we can get the ball rolling. Thanks!

Hopefully, we can discuss Street Captain coverage and email list progress at the next meeting. I did send out an email blast last week. I see at least one person had problems opening the email. Did anybody else receive it? Any problems?

I like this idea- perhaps with some hot dogs, chips , sodas and cookies for refreshments!
If someone has a slip and slide , that may be fun as well!
Maybe having a cop car and even a fire truck for a bit - for the presentation and for the kids! I think they would enjoy seeing those types of things!

An idea has been put forth to have a spring event where we welcome the teachers, staff and volunteers of the new school. I think it's an excellent oppurtunity to have a community game day and get to celebrate with some of the people who are part of the fabric of our community. If we can get our hands on some sporting equipment (volleyball, horshoes, etc) and some way of marking off lanes for races and such we can make a realy fun time of this. We could also use this as a way of recruiting parents for the crime watch and spreading the word. We already have one of the group memebers in contact with Oak Point PD so we could have an officer there as well to discuss saftey. Thoughts?

The officer called me back yesterday. He is in school this week, and really won't have time to meet/talk with me. BUT he did promise to call me back next week so we could discuss this further. I received email regarding having a meeting at the school, so I will plan to get him to attend that with us.

I think I have already signed up to be a street captain for my street (Sierra Trail), but for some reason I could not open some of the emails that came back to me. I had also wanted to join the social action grp. If someone would not mind letting me know if I am signed up I wo appreciate it, or let me know how to sign up.
