The HOA Management Company was on site Friday afternoon to close the smaller pool in order to shave costs so that the HOA would be able to afford armed guards to cover the entrance of the larger Pool and Amenity Center. Oak Point Police Officers were contracted by the Cross Oak Ranch HOA to provide security as well as enforce HOA dues payments by turning away non-paying residents. "It's like lighting your grill with a flamethrower." say's one resident in a recent discussion about the paying of armed, uniformed police officers to guard a pool from what many residents call 'a few hoodlums'. The Cross Oak Ranch HOA has been telling residents for over a year that funds are depleted, and there is no money in the budget to help improve or maintain amenities, and in April, were told that a small percentage increase was necessary to help cover the costs of vandelism of the pool furniture and weight room. Although residents were happy to see that HOA was making an attempt to secure the pools from non-paying members of the association and help increase security, many residents felt that paying overtime for police coverage to the city of Oak Point was a more than drastic measure.

The Citizens of Cross Oak Ranch are once again wondering where their money is going, as yet another deal with the City Of Oak Point drains finances and results in the closing of yet another amenity.
